Councillor Colin Sharpe

Seaton & Northside Councillor - Allerdale Borough Council

Colin Sharpe is the Conservative candidate for the Seaton & Northside ward in the by-election on 6th May 2021.

Colin lives in Seaton with his wife Jackie and enjoys being part of such a great community.

Community involvement has always been at the heart of of Colin’s life, having volunteered in a number of capacities including school governor, charity trustee, fundraiser, undergraduate mentor and event speaker. 

Colin was also previously elected as a Borough Councillor following the 2015 election, and served as shadow executive member for finance and property.

His background in business, commerce and finance has supported many further activities including the inception and management of the Cockermouth Flood Action Group in 2005, as a Director and President of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce & Industry 2009-2013 and latterly as a Director of TEG Virtual community interest company - training and supporting future business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs in West Cumbria.

Allerdale is a non-metropolitan district of Cumbria, with borough status. Its council is based in Workington and the borough has a population of 96,422 at the 2011 Census.

Seaton & Northside

The ward of Seaton & Northside encompasses the civil parishes of Seaton and Camerton, and the Northside ward of Workington Town Council.

Three councillors are elected to the ward.

On 6th May 2021, there will be a by-election to fill a vacant seat.
